Funding and Finances

At VR therapies, one initial motivation for creating this social enterprise was actually the lack of hydrotherapy for children with special needs and people with disabilities. We understand that the extra financial difficulties sadly involved in many people's lives as well as the number of cuts to services prevent many of them from accessing hydrotherapy (not that it ever had much funding to begin with!) let alone therapeutic VR. With this in mind, we felt becoming a charity would limit our possibilities and sustainability, especially having to rely on donations and volunteers. A social enterprise is the perfect solution to this as we will be able to put profits back into providing this service for those who may not be able to afford it, as well as providing full employment for people with disabilities (and not just token positions!)

  • Grants

Grant funding is offered by charitable, philanthropic, and government bodies who do not expect a financial return but are instead investing in the social outcome that the social enterprise promises. This is a crucial part of our plan for VR therapies.

  • Business Angels

Investments can be offered by companies or business angels. Business angels are wealthy individuals or groups who are interested in investing. There are number of those who are eager to invest in more ethical businesses has rapidly grown. These may require equity/shares in return. Angels, please get in touch!

  • Impact Investment

Similarly, is impact investment - investments made into companies, organisations, and funds with the intention to generate social and environmental impact alongside a financial return. This burgeoning field that has grown out of the realization that producing goods and services with a social value, such as vaccines for infectious diseases can also generate profits for investors. This is going to be a very important part of our funding also.

  • Loans

Business loans are available from a number of banks as well as businesses and start-up supporters. These can often include lower rates of interest and will help our initial start-up costs. Once our business account is set up, we will begin applying for loans.

  • Self funding

Lastly is self-funding, which is how we have got to this point. In an ideal world, we wouldn't need any funding from others. However, our credit cards sadly have a limit! We are also looking into personal loans and will sustain the business ourselves until funding has been received.

  • If you, your company, charity, or your philanthropic, beautiful, angel soul may be able to support or invest in us, please, please get in contact! Our only barrier is financial now. It will also qualify as good karma which the Buddha/Jesus/Allah/your mother would definitely approve.
